“Morning, babe.”

My eyes flutter open and I smile when I see Kameron looking at me. She’s sitting beside me on the bed with a laptop on her lap. “Hey.” Stretching myself, I hold back a yawn and turn on my side. “Why didn’t you wake me sooner?” By the looks of the bright light flooding into the room, the sun is already high in the sky and when I pick up my phone to check the time, I’m surprised to see that it’s past midday already.

“I just took the time to do some work, so I can have the rest of the day off to spend with you.” Closing the laptop, she puts it aside and scoots down under the covers with me. “Besides, it looked like you really needed to rest after last night.”

“Yeah, I suppose I did,” I say, and feel myself blush as flashbacks hit me, stirring my desire. I take her hand and kiss it and note how at ease I feel with her. There’s no awkwardness or politeness between us. I can be myself here; I’m not trying, and I don’t think she is either. We’re both grinning like we’re each other’s biggest fans, grabbing every opportunity to touch each other, constantly craving the contact.

“Trying new things can be both physically and mentally exhausting.” Kameron shoots me a heated look and I know she’s getting aroused by the memory too. She looks and smells like she’s just had a shower and her wet hair is slicked back, emphasizing her boyish sexiness.

“Maybe.” I run my hand over her cheek and her neck, marveling at how soft she feels. “But it’s also thrilling and exciting and frankly, it’s also been eye-opening to me. Thank you.”

Kameron shakes her head. “I should be the one to thank you, Ivy. I’m humbled that you put your trust in me and I don’t think you have any idea how much I’ve enjoyed our time together so far.” She pauses. “It’s been eye-opening to me too.”

Her words make my insides dance and I smile. “So, you’re taking more time off? That’s really sweet, but you don’t have to do that for me.”

“Who says I’m doing it for you?” Kameron quirks her lips. “Wanting to be with you is entirely selfish on my behalf.” She gestures to a bag on the chair by the dressing table. “Steph dropped off some more clothes for you, in case you wanted to venture out today.”

“Oh, great. Please thank her from me. I can’t believe I didn’t hear anything.” I wrap my arms around Kameron, thinking I could easily just stay in bed all day with her. My body is stiff and sore though, so I probably need some light exercise of the vertical kind.

Kameron pulls me closer and kisses me, and when I align myself with her body, I realize how clammy I am.

“I think I need a shower.” I wiggle myself out of her grip, then shriek in surprise as she tries to pull me back, jutting out her bottom lip while she gives me a pleading look.
