âMorning, babe.â
My eyes flutter open and I smile when I see Kameron looking at me. Sheâs sitting beside me on the bed with a laptop on her lap. âHey.â Stretching myself, I hold back a yawn and turn on my side. âWhy didnât you wake me sooner?â By the looks of the bright light flooding into the room, the sun is already high in the sky and when I pick up my phone to check the time, Iâm surprised to see that itâs past midday already.
âI just took the time to do some work, so I can have the rest of the day off to spend with you.â Closing the laptop, she puts it aside and scoots down under the covers with me. âBesides, it looked like you really needed to rest after last night.â
âYeah, I suppose I did,â I say, and feel myself blush as flashbacks hit me, stirring my desire. I take her hand and kiss it and note how at ease I feel with her. Thereâs no awkwardness or politeness between us. I can be myself here; Iâm not trying, and I donât think she is either. Weâre both grinning like weâre each otherâs biggest fans, grabbing every opportunity to touch each other, constantly craving the contact.
âTrying new things can be both physically and mentally exhausting.â Kameron shoots me a heated look and I know sheâs getting aroused by the memory too. She looks and smells like sheâs just had a shower and her wet hair is slicked back, emphasizing her boyish sexiness.
âMaybe.â I run my hand over her cheek and her neck, marveling at how soft she feels. âBut itâs also thrilling and exciting and frankly, itâs also been eye-opening to me. Thank you.â
Kameron shakes her head. âI should be the one to thank you, Ivy. Iâm humbled that you put your trust in me and I donât think you have any idea how much Iâve enjoyed our time together so far.â She pauses. âItâs been eye-opening to me too.â
Her words make my insides dance and I smile. âSo, youâre taking more time off? Thatâs really sweet, but you donât have to do that for me.â
âWho says Iâm doing it for you?â Kameron quirks her lips. âWanting to be with you is entirely selfish on my behalf.â She gestures to a bag on the chair by the dressing table. âSteph dropped off some more clothes for you, in case you wanted to venture out today.â
âOh, great. Please thank her from me. I canât believe I didnât hear anything.â I wrap my arms around Kameron, thinking I could easily just stay in bed all day with her. My body is stiff and sore though, so I probably need some light exercise of the vertical kind.
Kameron pulls me closer and kisses me, and when I align myself with her body, I realize how clammy I am.
âI think I need a shower.â I wiggle myself out of her grip, then shriek in surprise as she tries to pull me back, jutting out her bottom lip while she gives me a pleading look.
